Derby and Oaks (2005) : Sold my ticket to Oaks this year and didn't go to the Derby, either. Here's some stuff from the day before at the track. Later that night we were treated to a reunion gig (3 years) of a band that became a favorite of mine in Baton Rouge: Love Jones. Turns out they're Louisville natives. The concert was held at an airport hangar, and it just so happened that the Goodyear Blimp (in town to cover Derby) happened to be tethered a couple of hundred feet away - and completely unguarded. We helped ourselves with permission to come aboard.

Derby and Oaks (2004) : My folks came in town for the Derby, and again Missy's dad set us up with unbelievable tickets. Right on the finish line under the covered grandstand - which is a good thing because there was a torrential downpour most of the day.

Derby and Oaks (2000) : Pictures from the 126th running (2000) of the Kentucky Derby. All of these pics were duplicated from Lauren. Lauren made the trip up from Baton Rouge, Kit came in from Chicago, Julie came in from San Diego, and Jennings came up from Mobile. I think the Elvi came in from Las Vegas.

Derby and Oaks (1999) : The first Derby I am able to attend since moving to Louisville. You have The Duck from New Orleans, Julie and Amanda from San Diego, Kit from Chicago, and Shawn from Baton Rouge. When I moved to Louisville from Mobile, Shawn and I were dating and I paid for her to come up for the Derby. Three days later, when I dropped her off at the airport for her trip back home, we both knew that would be the last time we ever spoke to each other - and it was. It was the start of a new tradition, though - Julie gave me the hoof bottle that you can still see me break out on occasion.

Make sure you check out the available feeds (above this footer) - they're really the only way to go. The Google Earth stuff will blow your mind (although I only have the later stuff geo-coded.)
